Denis Leary Stars In New Fox Comedy

UPDATED: Fox has released the official trailer for Going Dutch, the network’s upcoming comedy series starring Denis Leary, ahead of its January 2 premiere.

“The leaders of 32 countries are putting their very lives in our hands — and most importantly — their laundry!” exclaims Laci Mosely’s Sergeant Dana Conway at the beginning of the trailer. That gives you an idea where this all might be going.

Leary stars as U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn who is tasked with reinstating discipline and professionalism among his group of military misfits.

PREVIOUS, Oct. 30: Denis Leary is heading to primetime TV with his new Fox series Going Dutch; a teaser for the comedy set to premiere in January can be found above.

The single-camera series follows the arrogant, loudmouth U.S. Army Colonel Patrick Quinn (Leary), who, after an unfiltered rant, is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least important army base in the world. After serving with distinction in every warzone over the last three decades, he now finds himself in charge of a base with no guns, weapons, or tactical purpose.

Instead, it has a Michelin Star-level commissary, a top-notch bowling alley, lavender-infused laundry, and the best (and only) fromagerie in the U.S. Army. Surrounded by a group of military misfits, the colonel tries to reinstate discipline and professionalism with the help of the base’s previous interim leader, who happens to be his estranged daughter (Taylor Misiak).

The series also stars Danny Pudi as “XO Major Abraham Shah,” the Colonel’s executive officer and codependent right-hand man; Laci Mosely as “Sergeant Dana Conway,” the cunning, crafty supply sergeant; and Hal Cumpston as “Corporal Elias Papadakis,” “technically” a soldier and the base’s brilliant head of IT.

Also featured in heavily recurring roles are Joe Morton as “General Davidson,” the Colonel’s long-standing nemesis; Catherine Tate as Katja Vanderhoff, a smart, attractive Dutch woman with a PhD in intersectional feminism, the head of the city’s Chamber of Commerce and the local brothel owner; and Dempsey Bryk as “Private Anthony “BA” Chapman,” a sweet baby himbo and a golden retriever of a soldier.

Going Dutch is part of Fox’s building of a new comedy block with the upcoming third season of the live-action comedy series Animal Control, starring Joel McHale, also scheduled to premiere in January.
