Maitreyi Ramakrishnan Celebrated Halloween and Diwali With Two Stunning Looks

Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is having a month full of major fashion moments. This year, Halloween and Diwali, the festival of lights, fell on the same day, and for South Asians who celebrate both, it was a unique opportunity to show off some incredible fits. Arguably, nobody embodied this better than the Never Have I Ever star.

First, for the Diwali All That Glitters Ball, co-hosted by Ramakrishnan, Teen Vogue editor-in-chief Versha Sharma, and several other prominent South Asian creatives, Ramakrishnan dressed up in a stunning custom Anita Dongre lehenga. Her hair was in a long ponytail with jasmine laced in her hair.

While getting ready together, Ramakrishnan shared how the gala was actually her first time ever celebrating Diwali. “In my family, we didn’t celebrate Diwali. We celebrate Pongal, and Tamil New Year,” Ramakrishnan said. “But we still appreciate it!”

The jaw-dropping dressed up moments didn’t stop at the Diwali celebrations though. For Halloween, Ramakrishnan dressed as Emily the Corpse Bride, wearing a reconstructed ’80s wedding dress designed by stylist Jillea. She even made a full video celebrating the look that she posted to Instagram.

Not that proof was needed, but if these two looks say anything it’s that there isn’t a fashion moment that Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will miss, Diwali, Halloween or otherwise.
