There isn’t a single fan of Friends who doesn’t know about, or has even tried, the iconic ‘Rachel’ haircut. Now it seems even Michelle Pfeiffer is revisiting the style.
In the ’90s, hair stylists were inundated with requests for the haircut, which featured long layers and lots of bounce and was named after Jennifer Aniston‘s character in the series, Rachel Green.
While we don’t know if Michelle intentionally referenced The Rachel when she went for her chop – or if she was a fan of the show – but judging by the result, she could have easily gone to her beauty salon with a picture of Jen.
The look is definitely channelling a season 4 Rachel Green rather than the original flicky cut – but we can totally see similarities.
Michelle debuted her new haircut at the Environmental Media Association Awards gala, held in Los Angeles. For the occasion, the actress chose a pristine white suit jacket – as if she wanted to let her hair steal the limelight rather than her outfit. She succeeded, as we’re obsessed with her new look.
How to recreate Michelle Pfeiffer’s ‘Rachel’ haircut
First of all, this isn’t just a nod to ’90s nostalgia. All signs are pointing to The Rachel making a comeback this year for the umpteenth time. As Fran Galán, stylist at TBC Hair salon, explains – 2024 will see the return of long hair worn loose, with plenty of body and movement. In other words, a style very similar to that of our much-loved Rachel Green.
