When it comes to planning your big day, choosing your wedding colour schemes is actually one of the more enjoyable parts of the process – and I should know, I’ve done it twice.
Being from a different country than my husband meant we planned two celebrations, one in the UK and one in New Zealand. With one wedding in the autumn, and one in the summer, it also meant two very different colour schemes.
For our British October wedding, we leant into the autumn hues, with terracotta bridesmaids dresses, navy suits, and rust ties. Flowers were all creams, blush and peaches with plenty of greenery.
The summer wedding in New Zealand called for a more vivid palette of pastel blues, pinks and yellows (which was just as well, as there was a torrential storm so the flowers brightened things up!).
Wedding colour schemes can range from the trending (like bright pastels), to the timeless (like terracotta and neutrals) – and deciding which one is right for your wedding can feel like a big decision.
My best advice: go for the colours that stand out to you the most, the ones that you love. It doesn’t matter if they are having a moment now or not – if you love them, you’ll always be happy with your choice.
