All About Lola Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s Daughter

In over a quarter century of marriage, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have welcomed three children—two sons and one daughter, Lola. When she was 20-years-old, Lola made a rare appearance on a virtual episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, where she gave an update on her life in quarantine.

While she hasn’t always jumped in the spotlight, in the last few years Lola has been spreading her wings in the music industry, releasing two singles and starting work on an EP. Below, everything else you should know about Lola, including her past cameos on the morning show.

Consuelos attended at NYU.

Consuelos finished up her freshmen year at New York University in 2019, where she studied music. Her older brother Michael graduated with a film degree from NYU in 2020. Ripa has spoken about wanting her kids to go to school further from home.

“College is where you start establishing yourself as an independent person, so when you send your kid away to college, if your kid stays local…if she feels homesick, I have to say to her, ‘You can’t come home. You have to work it out,’” Ripa said during an interview on On Air With Ryan Seacrest last September. “I treat it [like long-distance]. I did the same thing for my son…My main concern was, ‘I don’t know if you should be this close to home because I don’t want you using home like it’s your home. I want this to be your experience.’”

She spent quarantine watching lots of TikTok and Netflix.

During the pandemic, Consuelos was homebound with her family. She may have two famous parents, but she spent her time at home much like the rest of us. In late March, Consuelos appeared alongside her mother during an at-home episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan. When asked about social distancing with her parents and brothers—Michael, 24 and Joaquin, 18—by co-host Ryan Seacrest, she said, “It’s honestly not as bad as I thought.”

She explained that her time is spent with online classes, “a lot of Netflix,” and her intro to TikTok.

“I wasn’t on TikTok, and then everyone started to go on TikTok, so now I’m on it, and now I can’t get off of it,” Consuelos said. “I’m hooked.”

As for the chances of her family members joining her videos?

“You have a better chance of doing a TikTok video with Lola than we have of doing a TikTok video with Lola! That I can guarantee you,” Ripa told Seacrest, per People.

A few of her major life moments have been referenced on Live With Kelly and Ryan.

Consuelos’ 2020 appearance was a rare one, as she hardly ever joins her mom’s morning talk show. But although her in-person cameos are few and far between, Consuelos’ stories about her parents often make it into Ripa’s monologue. Her high school graduation and experience learning how to drive have both been referenced over the course of the show. Most infamously, when her father co-hosted the show with Ripa in June 2019, they spoke about Consuelos accidentally walking in on her parents on her 18th birthday:

Consuelos herself made an appearance during a Thanksgiving cooking segment in 2017.

“You tell stories about me that are just not true,” Consuelos jokingly mentioned, before insisting that her younger brother Joaquin is Ripa’s favorite child.

She’s a singer.

It makes sense that Consuelos attended college for music. For her first foray into performing, she shared a few videos of herself singing on Instagram. In April 2020, she posted a video where she can be heard singing Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black.” The video is now deleted, but her parents commented supportively on the post.

“Wow Lola ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ just gorgeous,” her mother wrote. Her dad commented, “❤️❤️.”

In the past, Consuelos has posted covers of songs including Madison Beer’s “Tyler Durden” and “Jealous” by Labrinth, although she obscured her face in both videos.

She dated one man for years.

Soccer player Tarek Fahmy was once a frequent presence on Lola’s Instagram feed. In December 2019, the couple took a trip to Egypt together, which she documented on social media. And for Fahmy’s 20th birthday, Consuelos shared now deleted photos of the couple with the caption, “Happy birthday to my bestest friend in the whole entire world. 20!!!!! My whole heart. No one compares to you! You make me so so proud everyday. I love you more❤️❤️❤️.”

However, in 2023, her feed has been stripped down and is largely about her plans for her music. She also no longer appears to be following Fahmy on the social media platform. In July of 2023, People shared screenshots of Instagram Stories in which Lola is celebrating an unnamed man’s 24th birthday. When asked about her personal life, she replied, “I’ll just say that I’m very happy, and that’s all I’ll say!”

She combines her birthday with Father’s Day for Mark Consuelos.

On June 16, 2021, Lola celebrated entering her 20s. Her father, Mark, took to his Instagram story to share a sweet celebratory photo of him and her.

“Fast forward 20 years, and here we are celebrating Father’s Day and Lola’s 20th birthday together by the grill while giving back to @Feedingamerica with #GirlDadGrillDad – couldn’t be prouder,” he wrote.

Both Ripa and Consuelos have praised their daughter’s independence.

In an August 2020 People profile of the Consuelos family, both proud parents spoke about their daughter’s accomplishments. Ripa told the outlet she had discovered “so much about being a modern-day woman,” from her daughter.

“It really gives me hope—her generation really supports each other, the way she and her friends have each other’s backs. For all the talk about women helping other women, I see it in her generation in a way I never have before.”

As for Lola’s father, Consuelos revealed, “As overprotective as I thought I would be when she was born and I was holding her in my arms, I’ve mellowed a bit,” adding, “Because I’m really aware of what a good head on her shoulders she has.”

She dropped her first single “Paranoia Silverlining” in the summer of 2022.

Her debut single titled “Paranoia Silverlining” came out just after she turned 21.

“I’ve been making music since I was 14 years old and never really had anything that I thought was legitimate enough to write about or something that resonated with me,” Lola told People in an interview. “So I came up with the idea around ‘Paranoia Silverlining,’ which is the notion that maybe your biggest fears don’t exist and that everyone, like it or not, [are] going to be paranoid.”

She continued, “It was just a good theme for what was going on in my life at the moment and I really liked the vibe and the sound of everything. I thought, ‘If I don’t do this now, I don’t know if I ever will,” because I can second guess myself a lot.”

The singer added that just wants “to get the ball rolling” and has “a lot of material to write about.”

“As I’ve gotten older, I have a lot more life experience in terms of relationships and friendships,” she added. “It was a good introduction to the type of music I like to make and what I like to speak about.”

Her parents also celebrated the release of the new song on Instagram with an impromptu music video.

At the time, Lola stated that “this is just the beginning.”

“This was a breakthrough for me. I feel a lot more confident with myself as an artist. I was so much more excited now that I finally put something out to show everyone else,” she said.

Lola released her second single “Divine Timing” a year later.

On July 14, 2023, Lola’s second single “Divine Timing” came out.

“I’ve already had the nerves of putting out my first single and people hearing my voice for the first time. So it’s really exciting and definitely less nerve-wracking,” she said of having a second song out.

Lola took some time rolling out new music as she gets comfortable with live performance.

“I used to do a lot of solos in my high school chorus, and that was great and all but I think [singing] in front of people who I don’t know and not just my parents will be really exciting and fun,” she explained. “So, that is the first thing that I’m really looking forward to doing in the upcoming year: performing live and performing my songs live.”

She added that she’s working on an EP as well.

Ripa celebrated Lola on National Daughter’s Day 2023 with a sweet tribute on Instagram.

In a carousel posted on September 25, Ripa shared images from Lola’s childhood and her recent photoshoots to celebrate her. In the caption, she wrote, “It’s #NationalDaughtersDay and today we celebrate @TheYoungestyung Love you Lola!!!”

She has opinions on her parent’s vacation habits.

On Ripa’s December 6 episode of her podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Lola’s mom joked about her daughter giving her a stern talking to every time she goes on a trip with Mark.

“Every time I go away now, my daughter’s like, ‘Don’t get pregnant,’ which is very funny ‘cause my daughter is so provocative,” Ripa told guest Hilarie Burton. “I was like, ‘Yeah, don’t worry about it. Don’t you get pregnant! How about that?’”

She added, “You gotta be careful with those away trips. That’s how babies are made!”

Despite the lectures, Lola is supportive of her parents and their public displays on social media.

“They’ve improved so much in terms of their Instagram skills and they know me at this point,” Lola told E! News in July. “We’ve had plenty of conversations. They know what line they can or can’t cross.”

But she is mostly glad to see them being so in love, even in public.

“I’ve always seen them stay really true to themselves and authentic and grounded,” Lola said. “That’s the best advice and It’s not even advice because I have grown up watching them work like that. I am really grateful to have them as built-in mentors, I don’t even have to pay for them. They’ve just been there.”
