‘Zoo P.D.’ Animated Comedy In Works At Fox From ‘Family Guy’s Alex Carter, Kapital & Bento Box

EXCLUSIVE: Fox has given a script commitment with penalty to Zoo P.D., an animated comedy from Family Guy executive producer Alex Carter, Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment.

Written by Carter, Zoo P.D. follows the police force stationed inside the eighth best zoo in California. In their attempts to handle the unruly customers and improve the park, the show hits upon a hard truth: at the end of the day, we’re all just animals.

Carter executive produces with Kaplan, Steve Michaels, Diane Galardi and Matt Alvarez. Kapital Entertainment and Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment co-produce; Kevin Marco is overseeing for Kapital.

This would mark Kapital’s second animated comedy series at Fox following HouseBroken, which aired for two seasons. It also was co-produced by Kapital and Bento Box.

Carter is also developing an animated reboot of Married With Children for Sony and is writing an untitled music biopic for Landline Pictures and MRC. He is an executive producer on Family Guy, where he has written for the last 15 years. Carter is repped by Kaplan/Perrone and Jackoway Tyerman.
