Chad Elger: “Hello horror fans, I’m here with the talented Mya Lazorka, who portrays Keo Sinn in “Malice: Nu Gui.” Mya, it’s a pleasure to be with you on set today.”

Mya Lazorka: “Thanks, Chad. It’s great to be here and share more about my experience with our film.”

Chad Elger: “Mya, your character Keo Sinn has a truly compelling backstory, inspired by the real-life experiences of patients at the now abandoned Wacol Insane Asylum. Can you tell us more about how you approached bringing Keo’s past to life and the emotional depth you aimed to convey?”

Mya Lazorka: “Absolutely, Chad. It was crucial for me to honor the real events that inspired Keo’s character and backstory. I immersed myself in research about the Wacol Asylum and the lives of its patients. Some really fucked up things occurred there. I wanted to capture the emotional turmoil, resilience, and strength that individuals in such institutions may have faced. It was a very challenging yet essential process to convey Keo’s depth and the impact of her past.”

Chad Elger: “That’s a powerful approach, Mya. Now, with Keo striving to lead a normal life outside the asylum’s walls, how did you navigate portraying the tension between her desire for normalcy and the haunting shadows of her past?”

Mya Lazorka: “It was a delicate balance to depict Keo’s inner conflict. I imagined the weight of her past constantly lingering, affecting her daily life and interactions. Keo’s journey to find a sense of normalcy while dealing with her traumatic experiences added layers of complexity to her character. I aimed to convey this struggle authentically, portraying her resilience while highlighting the challenges she faces, all the while trying to deal with a ghostly influence.”

Chad Elger: “It’s fascinating how you brought that complexity to the screen. What do you hope viewers will take away from her journey?”

Mya Lazorka: “I hope it communicates a message of resilience and the strength of the human spirit. It would remind viewers that no matter how haunted one’s past may be, there’s always an opportunity for growth and transformation. However, the influence of Malice’s haunting presence could change everything. We’ll have to wait and see. There’s so much left untold of Keo’s story, waiting to captivate and challenge viewers in unexpected ways.”

Chad Elger: “Thanks, Mya. Let’s hope to see more of Keo in the next Malice film.”
And don’t forget, Chad himself steps into the spotlight, playing the Rideshare driver in a scene alongside Mya.”
