The Meghan and Harry Rumor Mill Is Still Churning—But They Aren’t Breaking Up

Over the weekend, Meghan Markle was spotted solo at a farmer’s market near the Montecito home she shares with Prince Harry and their children, 4-year-old Archie and 2-year-old Lilibet. Along with one of the couple’s three dogs, Meghan reportedly walked to different stands, bought a bouquet of pink and white flowers, and tasted a bit of honey.

Her seeming serenity was a stark contrast to the claim reported by gossip website RadarOnline Tuesday that Meghan and Harry have separated. Contrary to the allegation that the couple is “taking time apart,” a source denied the report to Page Six in no uncertain terms. “It’s not true,” the insider said. “It’s literally made up.” According to the insider, the couple has no plans to split up.

In the month since Meghan and Harry’s deal Spotify came to an end after one season of Meghan’s show Archetypes, coverage of the couple has focused more on innuendo and rumors than actual statements from the couple itself. Podcaster Bill Simmons called them “grifters,” royal commentators have claimed that Meghan is trying to establish her own brand without Harry, and reports erroneously suggested that Meghan was in the process of signing a deal with Dior.

Page Six also reported that Harry is planning to film a documentary in Africa for Netflix soon. Another docuseries, Heart of Invictus, is scheduled to air on the streamer later this month. Prince Harry’s last official public engagement took place late last month, when he appeared in a video to honor the winners of the Diana Award, which are awarded by a nonprofit begun in his mother’s memory, and his next schedule public appearance is at the next edition of the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, beginning on September 9.
