Dave Grohl’s 17-Year-Old Daughter, Violet, Joins Foo Fighters on Stage at Glastonbury

Violet Grohl is following in her dad’s rock-star footsteps. On Friday, June 23, the 17-year-old joined her father, Dave Grohl, and the Foo Fighters on stage at the 2023 Glastonbury Festival, where she and Dave performed a song from the band’s latest album, “But Here We Are.”

“My favorite singer in the world,” Dave said as he introduced his daughter. “This is a song I wrote for my mother, Violet’s grandmother. This is ‘Show Me How.'”

Near the end of the song, the proud dad shouted, “That’s my girl!” Violet previously performed the same song with Dave in Pelham, AL, on June 16.

Violet is the oldest of Dave’s three daughters with wife Jordyn Blum. They also share Harper Willow and Ophelia Saint (all three of his daughters and Blum joined him at the 2023 Grammys). At least two of his daughters appear to love music just as much as their dad does. Not only has Violet joined her father on stage multiple times, but 14-year-old Harper has performed with her father, too. In 2018, she joined Dave on stage at a benefit concert where she and her dad sang “The Sky Is a Neighborhood.”

While Dave has a storied history thanks to being in Nirvana and the Foo Fighters at different points of his career, he has been candid about how proud he is to be a father. In a 2021 interview on “Today,” he shared how singing and talking to Violet before she was born gave them an unbreakable bond right from the start.

“It feels weird to sit there talking to someone’s stomach and saying, like, ‘Hi! I can’t wait to meet you,'” he said. But his efforts paid off when he held his daughter for the first time. “I got right close to her face and and I said, ‘Hey, Violet, it’s me.’ And she stopped screaming,” he recalled. “We’ve been like that ever since.”
