‘My Friendly Neighborhood’ Comes to Steam July 18, Console Versions to Follow Later [Trailer]

Bethesda unveiled a whopping 45 minutes of gameplay today for their highly-anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield ahead of its September 6 release for the Xbox Series and PC via Steam. Described as “Skyrim in space,” by the game’s director, Todd Howard, the deep dive includes exploring the game’s cities and settlements, the skill trees, upgrades, and of course the combat. And for you hardcore fans, the game’s “Constellation Edition” is now up for pre-order via Bethesda’s website.

Starfield takes place in the year 2330, where humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. You will join Constellation – the last group of space explorers seeking rare artifacts throughout the galaxy.

With over 1000 planets to explore, ranging from bustling cities and bases bustling to wild landscapes, you’ll meet and recruit from a cast of characters to join in the adventures of various factions, and embark on quests across the Settled Systems. It won’t be easy, as space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation, with Zero G environments add an element of chaos to combat.

Pre-ordering the Constellation Edition gives you the “Old Mars Skin Pack” in-game bonus items, which includes the Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet and Deep Mining Pack.
