This super-simple eyelash curler eyeshadow hack is blowing up on TikTok

Eyelash curler at the ready, you’re about to see them in a whole new light…

Whether you prefer voluminous, thick and fluffy lashes, or prefer to prioritise length, curling our lashes is a critical part of many of our make up routines. But, it turns out that we can use this affordable gadget for more than just perfectly-prepping our lashes for mascara. Yep, TikTok is at it again, alerting us to a super-simple eyelash curler eyeshadow hack that anyone, yes seriously, anyone, can use to help create a striking eye look.

It’s no secret that we love a hack as much as the next TikTok obsessed gal just tryna look her best as she saves up to be able to afford a pack of Lurpak at the supermarket, but we particularly adore Tok tips that don’t need us to buy any extra products, spend hours fiddling around or have a PhD in makeup… and this one hits all three.

Several beauty content creators have now shared the hack, including @lenkalul, whose video on the eyeshadow technique has been viewed by over 18million people and racking up 2.9 million likes.

Captioned, “the easiest way!”, Lenka shows how she uses the outside rim of the eyelash curler to perfectly mark a line along the crease and then using the handle of the curler to create a super-straight wing on the outside of the eyelid. Then she simply joins the two up and hey presto, the perfect sultry winged eyeliner/shadow look.

Honestly, we’re obsessed.

And it turns out that we’re not the only ones. “I’m doing this for my next glam 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰,” wrote one fan, who joined thousands of others in the comment section of the video. Another said: “Your video is trending for everybody, recreating your look, such an amazing video 😁🥰,” while a third added, “This is giving Kylie Jenner vibes and you slayed this look.”

Many others were excited to share that they had tried to hack and achieved the same flawless look, and those who had yet to follow the tutorial for themselves expressed their keenness to do so. “FINALLY A TUTORIAL I CAN DO,” wrote one, echoing our own thoughts after all the 26-minute YouTube videos we’ve watched on how to do a smokey eye that involve 470 steps, 82 products and the patience of a saint.

Unsurprisingly, the trend has spread, with other makeup gurus on the app showing off their own take on the hack, using a combination of different coloured eyeliner or eyeshadows. “This hack is so easy & smart!!,” user @hayleybuix captioned her own video, showing her using the exact same technique to create a subtle yet effective brown shadow look.

Her video too has received its fair share of love, with over 135,000 likes and similarly emphatic comments from fans continuing to trickle in underneath the video.

And just one more time for those at the back, user @katiefarhood also uploaded a video of her trying the hack, which shows her drawing on the wing as she tells the camera: “with a bit of cleanup this has a lot of potential, I mean that took less than minute.” LESS THAN A MINUTE.

After a bit of black line and blending she shows the final, ST-UNNING look, and tells the camera: “all from an eyelash curler, who would have thought?”

Well you know what, since TikTok came into our lives, nothing surprises us anymore… I mean, last week we watched someone try to apply foundation with a stiletto heel. Spoiler alert: it’s definitely not as effective as this and mainly just leaves you with a dirty shoe.
