Jenelle Evans: Yes, I Lie on the Internet, But I’m Not as Bad as Maci Bookout!

An unexpected Teen Mom feud has developed over the past few days.

Actually, that’s not entirely accurate.

Only one of the combatants has anything to do with the world of Teen Mom, and she has yet to respond to the other party’s attempts at instigation.

So basically, what we have here is Jenelle Evans attempting to start a feud with Maci Bookout, who has wisely decided not to take the bait.

The trouble began on Wednesday, when the company who posts clickbait on Maci’s Instagram page decided to include an item about Jenelle’s daughter, Ensley.

The link to the article claimed that Ensley was missing.

Of course, anyone who clicked on it and read the piece quickly realized that Ensley was “missing” from Jenelle’s Instagram age, as opposed to being actually, physically missing in real life.

Jenelle is always a fan of conflict, and she’s increasingly desperate to remain relevant, so she quickly seized the opportunity to lash out at Maci.

And of course, she took the matter up publicly, rather than privately.

“Hey Maci…Fun Fact: My daughter isn’t missing,” Evans tweeted.

Jenelle has a point here, as posting misleading clickbait for cash is a rather unethical thing to do, especially when children are involved.

And as much as Maci might like to shift the blame to the company that makes her sponsored content deals, she’s ultimately responsible for all of the posts that appear on her page.

Of course, Jenelle also posts clickbait for cash, and many Twitter users were quick to call her out on the double standard.

Jenelle Evans Speaks to Fans

“Yeah she works with a company I fired,” Jenelle explained, according to The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.

“I make sure my people aren’t posting negative press about the girls. If something is really negative I delete it myself and tell my people not to post things like that…” Evans continued.

“[Maci] gets paid to post scandalous things about ‘Teen Mom’ girls. Mostly everyone gets a check.”

Jenelle Evans Complains

Jenelle is correct that many of the Teen Moms profit from sponsored content arrangements.

And most of them accept payment in exchange in for posting misleading articles about their co-stars.

But she should’ve expected that in publicly calling Maci out for something that she’s done many times herself, she would leave herself vulnerable to criticism.

“First of all, I know I post clickbait. Second of all, I have a different company that posts clickbait other than Maci and I actually fired the company that Maci posts for,” Jenelle rambled on before adding:

“Third of all, why are you guys asking me if my daughter’s missing if it’s like ‘Oh, this is just clickbait?’ Why do I have to clear up rumors then?”

Again, this is the rare occasion in which Jenelle is actually in the right.

But since Maci has already deleted the link, she can probably go ahead and drop it now.

But we won’t count on that happening anytime soon.

After all, Jenelle is very unemployed, very bored, and very much still obsessed with the MTV franchise that made her famous.
