Yaya Bey has shared a new music video for her song “Big Daddy Ya.” The track comes from Remember Your North Star, her most recent LP and second studio album overall. In the clip, which she directed herself, the Brooklyn R&B singer-songwriter can be seen posing before a camera in a range of stylish outfits during a photoshoot. Check out the video below.
“We all have our unique balance of feminine and masculine energy and sometimes it can be an intense journey finding your relationship to that. One that isn’t performative,” Yaya Bey said in a statement when discussing the “Big Daddy Ya” visual. “This video is me on that journey in a way. But I’m still very much figuring it out.”
Remember Your North Star follows Yaya Bey’s 2021 EP The Things I Can’t Take With Me and her 2020 full-length album Madison Tapes.
