‘Evil’s Katja Herbers, Mike Colter & Aasif Mandvi + Creators Robert & Michelle King On The Joys Of Silence, A Glimpse At Season 3- Virtual Screening Series

“It was probably my favorite episode to shot, because it was really a delight,” says Evil star Katja Herbers of the “S Is For Silence” from Season 2 of the Robert and Michelle King created supernatural drama.

As you can see in the video above, Herbers was speaking this week during Deadline’s Virtual Screening Series of the seventh episode of the second season of the Paramount+ series. The actress who plays Dr. Kristen Bouchard on Evil was joined by co-stars Mike Colter, who portrays priest in training David Acosta and Aasif Mandvi who plays technical expert and self-styled Devil’s advocate Ben Shakir. Co-creators the Kings also were on the panel.

Directed by Robert King, the August 29, 2021 debuting “S Is For Silence” finds the investigating trio of Bouchard, Acosta and Shakir traveling to a monastery where the residents have taken vows not to speak. In that almost equally comical and chilling episode, the three find that there may be far more going on with a potential candidate for sainthood that either prayer or skepticism can explain.

“It was great to be able to play all that without words, and also to get to use physicality,” Daily Show vet Mandvi says of the limitations the episode imposed and the new avenues it opened for the cast. “Talking to Robert, having him direct is always freeing because you know if you want to run something by him, he’s on set ,” Luke Cage alum Colter added

The dark, spiritual and intensely crafted series that straddles the sometimes blurred line between faith, skeptics and science premiered on CBS in September 2019. Evil moved on over to Paramount+ for Season 2 last year. The third season of Evil is set to debut on the streamer in just a few days, on June 12.

Evil is produced by CBS Studios in association with King Size Productions. The Kings, Liz Glotzer, Rockne S. O’Bannon and Nelson McCormick serve as executive producers on the show. Evil is distributed internationally by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
