These are the spring hair colour trends that are set to headline this season

What are the hair pros predicting? “For me, you can’t go wrong with a gorgeous liquid gold blonde,” Adam Reed, UK Editorial Ambassador for L’Oréal Professionnel, tells GLAMOUR.  It involves blending “both warm and cool tones into the hair,” he explains, adding, “the dimensional gold tones will keep the hair from looking flat.”

But alongside blending beautiful gold shades that complement your skin tone, hair glosses and finishing mists will come into play, alongside general haircare, to give hair a luxe finish. “They help give off a gorgeous liquid-like shine that really makes waves – for me, this is the evolution of glass hair,” Adam says.

Hair tends to be multi-tonal across all shades and textures, even if those shade nuances are super subtle, so to achieve an all-black colour, you need hair dye. That said, a little dimension is beautiful and can help add richness. “Olivia Rodrigo, Dua Lipa, and Megan Fox are all sporting off-black hair,” says Tom Smith, Evo Hair’s International Creative Colour Director. “It may look black from first impression, but what we’re actually seeing is the darkest brunette, with a very, very cool tone,” he says.

“Cool-toned colours always appear darker than warmer colours,” he says. So to achieve the richness that dark-haired babes enjoy, ask your hair colourist for “extremely ashy and cool tones, so no red tones or warmth in there, it almost has a bluish tone in certain lights”, says Tom.
