Kris Jenner has finally commented publicly on her daughter Kim Kardashian‘s relationship with Pete Davidson, and her reaction is here for the world to see.
The trailer for The Kardashians, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians spin-off series produced by Hulu, has literally just dropped, and it answers many of the burning questions we’ve been wanting answers since their original reality series ended in June 2021 after 20 series.
One of which very much involves Kim’s love life, after her split from Kanye West. Ever since we learnt about Kim & Pete’s relationship we’ve had one pressing question on our minds, and that is: what does matriarch Kris Jenner think about all this?
“This is a relationship that I don’t think anyone saw coming,” comments Kris of her daughter’s relationship with the 28-year-old Saturday Night Live comedian, as she does a piece to camera. However, she looks totally upbeat as she says it – suggesting she’s happy for her daughter.
To give context, Kris’s comments take place as a clip of Kim & Pete’s Saturday Night Live spoof together – where they share what is believed to have been their first kiss – plays.
There’s also a cute clip of Kim looking down at her phone, while a voice off-camera (presumably one of her sisters) asks: “Who are you texting, Kim? Does it rhyme with “beat”?”
You can watch the trailer here:
To an extent, we totally get Kris’s reaction: Kim and Pete are not two people we would have automatically imagined together, particularly in light of Kim’s previous serious relationships with record producer Damon Thomas; basketball player Kris Humphries; and musician slash entrepreneur Kanye West.
In contrast, Pete is significantly less open to the limelight – despite being a public figure, he doesn’t even have social media. Not to mention the significant age gap between the pair – Pete is 28 while Kim is 41, and she has never previously dated someone that much younger than her.
But it definitely seems to be making them both very happy, given Kim’s recent playful post making their relationship Instagram official which is all anyone could want.
It also comes before a segment of the trailer surrounding Kim’s turbulent split with Kanye, where she tells her family, “It’s really hard with Kanye. He told me my career is over.”
It’s believed Pete will not be personally appearing in The Kardashians, at least for now, as Kim told Variety in a recent interview, although she did hint this may be a thing in the future.
Her full statement on the matter: “I have not filmed with him. And I’m not opposed to it. It’s just not what he does. But if there was an event happening and he was there, he wouldn’t tell the cameras to getaway. I think I might film something really exciting coming, but it wouldn’t be for this season.”
