Everyone’s favourite adidas Stan Smith trainers have won ‘Vegan Glow Up’, and cult brand Ganni has been given the ‘Progress Award’, too, after it promised to roll out grape leather shoes by 2022.
For best collaboration, Nike and Piñatex scored for their ‘Happy Pineapple’ collection, which saw Air Force 1 trainers reimagined in pineapple leather, while AllKind won ‘Best Vegan Shoes’ overall.
Other winners include influencer-favourite brand House of Sunny, which won ‘Best Wool-Free Knitwear’ — and the ‘Men’s Fashion Award’ went to Oliver Co London for its luxury accessories made from apple leather.
Finally, star-favourite designer Elisabetta Franchi has won the ‘Special Achievement’ award for its commitment to being free from fur, angora, and feathers as well as launching leather-free collections.
“From luxury houses such as Gucci to casual sportswear brands like adidas, everybody in fashion wants to join the animal-free revolution,” PETA Director Elisa Allen tells GLAMOUR. “With these awards, the PETA Fashion Awards is celebrating the designers helping to keep cruelty off the runway.”
