The first secret baby news of 2022 is here! Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have welcomed their first child via surrogate after keeping their plans completely secret.
On January 21, the couple, who have been married since 2018, announced the happy news on Instagram. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” Chopra wrote. “We respectfully ask for privacy during this special time as we focus on our family.”

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ relationship kicked off in 2017 after the pair attended the Met gala together and set off a firestorm of dating rumors. “Yeah, we were on the same table and we already know each other,” Chopra told Jimmy Kimmel at the time. “So he was like, ‘Hey, you wanna go [to the Met gala] together?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, okay, let’s go together.’ It ended up working out.” Jonas also denied they were together, telling a radio station, “I’m single. She and I knew each other from before.”
The pair were officially dating by May 2018—almost exactly one year later—and engaged by August 2018. That December, the couple tied the knot in Jodhpur, India, where they hosted two ceremonies—one Hindu and one Christian—over the course of five days.
Recently, Chopra took part in a good old-fashioned roast of her husband for their Netflix special, Jonas Brothers Family Roast, and pretty much went in for the kill. “Nick and I have a 10-year age gap, we do,” she began, per People. “And there are many ’90s pop culture references he doesn’t understand, and I have to explain them to him…He teaches me how to use TikTok, for example, and I teach him what a successful acting career looks like.”
There were more jabs after that, but she ended her bit on a sweet, playful note. “Seriously, I want to talk about how much I love my husband and one of the things I love about my husband is how much we have in common. You know, for instance, we’re both totally, completely, wholly obsessed—and I mean obsessed—with Nick Jonas. We love Nick Jonas. He’s our favorite.”
This is gonna be quite the household.
