The Morning Show is returning for season 3 and we are NOT ready

Jennifer Aniston had been craftily keeping fans guessing for months, but we can finally confirm that The Morning Show season three is officially happening. Huzzah.

The streaming platform has announced that the show has been renewed, with a shiny new showrunner and executive producer, no less.

Happily, the show‘s talented cast including Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon will return – with Reese having already posted on her Instagram Stories to confirm the news.

“So excited to bring y’all a third season of @TheMorningShow!” she wrote to her fans.

Meanwhile, the show’s official Instagram account also shared an image featuring both Reese and Jennifer, writing: “It’s all over the news… #TheMorningShow will return for a Season 3. What do you think is next for UBA and your favourite hosts?”

We don’t know much about the storyline as yet, but we do know that the show has a new team member behind the scenes – showrunner and executive producer Charlotte Stoudt, who has previously worked on the likes of Homeland and House of Cards.

Meanwhile, The Morning Show‘s original show runner, Kerry Ehrin, will serve as a consultant on the third series.

Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston also executive produce the series through their respective companies Hello Sunshine and Echo Films – and Jennifer has even hinted that she’d like to direct an episode in the coming new season.

She told Harper’s Bazaar: “If there’s a season three of The Morning Show, I want to direct one of our episodes.”

Up until now, she had kept it pretty coy about whether a third series would ever happen, however. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in 2021, she admitted that she wasn’t sure she would sign on to do another season.

“It’s so hard to even imagine it right now,” she said. “You know when they say mothers almost have a block: ‘I could never do that again!’ I’m a little bit in that moment of, ‘I don’t know if I could ever do that again!’ So, we’ll see.”

As for Reese, she had already hinted that the show would be returning back in December, telling Extra TV that she had met with Jennifer to plan the new season.

She also revealed that they had not begun filming yet, adding that Jennifer was filming a new movie with Adam Sandler. “She’s gonna be busy for a minute, but then we’re gonna get right on it,” she said. “Because people have been so wonderful about the show, and we’re excited to get out there and give the people what they want.”

That’s music to our ears, Reese…
