Kingsman Director Making First R-Rated Quiz Show | Screen Rant

Kingsman director, Matthew Vaughn, has revealed he is developing the first R-rated quiz show. Vaughn is the director behind the Kingsman franchise, which has released two films, Kingsman: Secret Service and its sequel, Kingsman: The Golden Circle. A third film, The King’s Man, is set to be a prequel to the first two films and will release theatrically on December 22, 2021. While Kingsman: Secret Service was a box-office hit, its sequel didn’t fair as well and, unfortunately, The King’s Man has received poor early reviews. However, the Kingsman franchise still has a solid fan base and will be continuing with seven more films planned by Vaughn and his production company, Marv Group. In addition to the Kingman franchise, Vaughn has an entirely new route he wants to explore as a director.

In an interview with Collider, Vaughn revealed that he is developing an R-rated TV quiz show. The subject came up as Vaughn recounted where he and Marv Group are setting their sights for the near future. One such project that he is working on is to reinvent the quiz show genre. Vaughn is planning on creating the first R-rated quiz show. While he can’t release any more details on the show, the pilot was already shot earlier this week. Check out Vaughn’s statement below:

And we’re making a TV…reinvented the quiz show, believe it or not. We just shot the pilot last week. I’m gonna do the first R rated quiz show. I can’t say much about it. But I’m watching the edit later on today.

Vaughn’s new project is certain appealing as quiz shows could use some reinventing to offer alternatives to the typical Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy. More unique ideas for quiz shows are starting to arise such as the Harry Potter-themed quiz show, Tournament of the Houses, which has intrigued fans with its focus and emphasis on one particular franchise. Vaughn’s quiz show seems to be taking a similar angle and searching to appeal to a very specific audience. One cannot deny that the typical quiz shows can get a bit dull at times, but one that adds a little bit of spice to the premise will certainly raise the appeal. Kingsman director, Vaughn, has a lot of new projects on the horizon, but his R-rated quiz show certainly stirs up the most interest.
