Following its highly anticipated theatrical release on Nov. 5, Marvel’s Eternals is coming to Disney+ on January 12, 2022, according to the streaming platform’s Twitter account. The superhero movie, which grossed $300 million worldwide, will be available for all Disney+ subscribers for free. Set to span across multiple centuries, the film follows a group of immortal alien beings created by the Celestials as they reunite to fight their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
Starring Angelina Jolie (Thena), Richard Madden (Ikaris), Kumail Nanjiani (Kingo), Lauren Ridloff (Makkari), Brian Tyree Henry (Phastos), Salma Hayek (Ajak), Lia McHugh (Sprite), Don Lee (Gilgamesh), Barry Keoghan (Druig), Gemma Chan (Sersi), and Kit Harington (Black Knight), the cast is filled with heavy hitters, and we can’t wait to see what they do in a superhero role. The film is also directed by recent Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, who called Eternals a big melting pot and has a writing credit for the film as well.
By the looks of the trailers, not only will we get to learn more about the Eternals’ origins and how they work as a group, we’ll get to see why they’re just now making their presence known. It also seems like we’ll get to see them in their secret Earth lives as well, including what happened when the Avengers “snapped” everyone back into existence.
