The Ordinary is having an *epic* sale that lasts until the end of November, so here’s what GLAMOUR editors are stocking up on

If you’re anything like the team here at GLAMOUR, it’s the best Black Friday beauty deals that are taking up the most space on your wish list. And it’s no surprise that us makeup and skincare aficionados all over the country shop like mad on Cyber Weekend. It provides the perfect opportunity to stock up on the cabinet staples that you use all year round, or to treat yourself to the new beauty products you’ve been hankering after for months – with a lower financial commitment.

That being said, not every brand participates in Black Friday. After offering conventional Black Friday discounts in the past, DECIEM (the owners of The Ordinary and Niod) found it left customers disappointed – and felt encouraging people to buy things they may not need is not people or planet friendly. The approach of discounting a small selection of products for a limited amount of time caused a rush to purchase, and everything sold out too quickly.

That’s why, for the last couple of years, DECIEM have instead operated Slowvember – a month long saving of 23% off every product in the hope of allowing customers to make deliberate, considered purchases, and to truly benefit from the saving. And in addition, the DECIEM website will take a pause on November 26th with products not available to purchase at any of their stores around the world, either.

If you weren’t already aware, The Ordinary is a science-led and incredibly affordable skincare brand that has soared to unimaginable heights and cemented its popularity since its launch back in September 2016. The products look like they come straight out of a lab and encourage users to experiment with what works for them – mixing products together and creating a totally bespoke skincare routine.

It’s because of this we predict The Ordinary sale is pretty much guaranteed to be the most popular of them all. But in the name of considered purchasing, what should you be looking out for and what products are truly worth their cult status? We asked our GLAMOUR editors what’s on their Slowvember wish list.

Products worth particular note include the Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion. One of the brand’s first ever skin-transforming products, this milky serum unclogs pores, smooths rough skin texture and minimises hyperpigmentation. The brand’s Niacinamide 10%, Zinc 1% currently sells 1 every 3 seconds so you better believe the hype, while their Serum Foundation racked up an impressive 75,000 person waitlist when it launched in 2017.

And while The Ordinary has previously focused on developing skincare and makeup products, they’ve recently expanded to haircare and launched the Multi-Peptide Serum for Hair Density. This concentrated formula is designed to support hair health so that it looks thicker, denser, fuller and healthier. As it’s a leave on/in treatment, simply apply a few drops or as needed once daily, ideally at bedtime, to a clean, dry scalp and massage thoroughly in. Genius.
