Yes, Hilary Duff has seen your TikToks re-creating her 2007 “With Love” dance. And she’s ready to respond.
For the unfamiliar, let me back up and give some context: In 2007, Hilary Duff released her single “With Love” and, like most pop stars, promoted it on every talk show imaginable. In most of the performances, Duff gave us some choreography, including a small combination that has since lit the internet on fire. It’s a rather, erm, robotic dance, with Swift doing lots of arm-ography and serving face. People on TikTok are obsessed with it, and they’ve been re-creating it left and right:
And now Duff herself has responded to the trend—by bringing back the dance herself. “So I can stop receiving text about this….✌🏻 also….. I tik toked….and it was a 12% kinda day,” Duff wrote on Instagram, sharing the TikTok she made of her (new) take on the dance.
I wonder if any of Duff’s How I Met Your Father costars asked her about this TikTok trend. The actor-singer is set to star in a Hulu spin-off of How I Met Your Mother alongside Francia Raisa (Grown-ish), Tom Ainsley (The Royals), Tien Tran (Space Force), and Suraj Sharma (God Friended Me).
“I’ve been incredibly lucky in my career to play some wonderful characters and I’m looking forward to taking on the role of Sophie,” Duff said about the show. “As a huge fan of How I Met Your Mother, I’m honoured and even a little nervous that Carter and Craig would trust me with the sequel of their baby. Isaac and Elizabeth are brilliant, and I can’t wait to work alongside them and all of their genius. Just fangirling over here getting to join the Hulu Originals and 20th families. I realize these are big shoes to fill and I’m excited to slip my 6½’s in there.” For more info on it, click here.
