Joe Biden’s Nephew Cuffe Owens Marries Former Real Housewives Star Meghan King

The couple knew instantly that they wanted to build a life together after meeting on a dating app just a few weeks ago.

The whirlwind romance between Cuffe Biden Owens and former Real Housewives of Orange County star Meghan King culminated in a walk down the aisle over the weekend, mere weeks after the pair first met on a dating app.

The reality star told Brides that right from the start the pair knew they had something very special. “We connected on a dating app, texted for a day or two, then spent five straight hours on the phone the first time we spoke,” she said. “By the time that call ended, Cuffe was booked and packed for a flight to St. Louis that took off in about eight hours. Within a week, we were back on the East Coast, meeting his family, and starting to plan our future together. We didn’t leave each other’s side for weeks.” So the couple decided to tie the knot because, as King explained, “Our wedding was about two things for us, our love for and commitment to each other, and our family — each of our families, and the new very large and very tight family that we were bonding together by getting married. That’s it.” According to sources who spoke to Us Weekly, King — who finalized her divorce from ex-husband Jim Edmonds in May — first met Owens just three weeks ago.

The Bravo alum explained that at first the couple thought they might have a Los Angeles wedding, “but the truth is it never felt right to either one of us.” So they ultimately decided on Owens’s childhood home in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and then realized that his parents’ wedding anniversary, October 11, fell on a long weekend. And suddenly, “We both knew exactly what we were going to do, where we were going to do it, and how we were going to do it,” King said. “It’s a beautiful thing to see eye-to-eye with each other as we do.” The wedding was fully planned by Owens’s mother, Valerie Biden. And, in keeping with their wish that the event have “no major frills, no overthinking, no drama,” only 50 people attended the ceremony, including Owens’s uncle, President Joe Biden, and his wife First Lady Jill Biden.

In terms of her look for the big day, King said that after buying thousands of dollars worth of gowns, “We both found ourselves getting caught up in expectations of tradition with the dress when I just decided to wear what felt most like ‘me.’” Which, in this case, meant a blazer dress by Rosario paired with diamond studs borrowed from her sister, blue Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps, a BHLDN birdcage veil, and Dolce & Gabbana lace gloves. The groom opted for a simple navy blue suit from Ralph Lauren Purple Label.
