‘Evil Dead Rise’: New Behind the Scenes Images Include a Fun Homage to ‘Evil Dead II’ and Henrietta Knowby

Filming is more than halfway complete on Lee Cronin‘s (The Hole in the GroundEvil Dead Rise, the brand new installment in the Evil Dead franchise that’s going directly to HBO Max.

Cronin has been sharing behind the scenes images from the set ever since filming began, and a few new additions in recent days tease two things: bloodshed and Easter eggs.

On the latter front, a pizza box that’ll be seen in the movie comes from “Henrietta’s Pizzeria,” a fun nod to Ted Raimi‘s memorable character from Sam Raimi’s sequel Evil Dead II!

Henrietta Knowby, who more recently returned in “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” is of course the wife of Professor Raymond Knowby, the first victim of the franchise’s Kandarian Demon. Henrietta was locked in the fruit cellar by Raymond, and Ash had to deal with her in Evil Dead II.
