Jameela Jamil is about to become a Marvel villain in this major new role

Jameela Jamil has come a long way since her days on T4. Not only did she kill it Stateside with her role as Tahani Al-Jamil on The Good Place but she’s also a trailblazing activist who champions self-love whilst tackling body image pressures on women in modern society with her community-led initiative, I WEIGH, not to mention a presenter and podcaster. And now, she can add Marvel villain to that list.

That’s right, just when she couldn’t get any more badass, here we are. Jameela has been cast in one of Disney+’s new MCU TV shows titled, She-Hulk.

The new show stars Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany as title character Jennifer Walters, a woman who gets super strength and green skin after getting a blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner aka Hulk. Unlike her male counterpart, Jennifer never loses her cool. According tot he comics, she’s always the She-Hulk – even during the day when she’s doubling up as a lawyer.

Described as a comedy, the show’s head writer is Jessica Gao ( of Rick and Morty), and will be co-directed by Kat Coiro (Single Parents) and Anu Valia (Never Have I Ever). So it’s safe to say we’ll be a good laugh or two.

Like any superhero, She-Hulk has an arch-enemy who is our film villain. Enter Jameela, who will play Titania, Jennifer’s long-term rival “with incredible strength” according to Variety.

This is the latest gig for Jameela, who after The Good Place remained a regular on American TV as the host of game show The Misery Index and as a judge on the HBO Max dance show, Legendary.

Renée Elise Goldsberry, Ginger Gonzaga, and Tim Roth will also star in the new show, as well as Mark Ruffalo who will reprise his role as Hulk.

She-Hulk is one of many new Marvel shows coming to Disney+ following the success of WandaVision, with GLAMOUR cover star Elizabeth Olsen as the titular lead, as well as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and most recently Loki.
