Regardless of how much of a makeup pro you are, most of us are constantly on the hunt for hacks to make our foundation look as if it were our actual skin and stay on without touch-ups.
As we approach the warmer (and hopefully more sociable) summer months, achieving a seamless, non-slippery base is key in stopping our faces sweltering up and looking cakey – something that’s often easier said than done, right?
Well, TikTok is doing what TikTok does best and providing us with a simple makeup technique to combat coverage woes.
User @goldenbeauty_xo took to the platform to share a less conventional makeup routine that sees products applied in a different order to the ones we usually follow, telling viewers, “If you wear makeup, watch! Change your whole routine and try this instead.”
In the video we see the makeup pro use translucent powder BEFORE foundation, yup that’s right, liquid on top of powder, with foundation applied as the very last step. Quite literally ripping up the rule book.
The TikTok user says, “Just see what happens and how amazing your f**king makeup is going to look, it’s going to stay on 24-7 and it’s not going to crease.”
The video has racked up over 900k likes, with over 3,000 users sharing their experiences of trying out the hack.
One user commented: “As a woman who has oily skin… this has been a game changer.”
Another wrote: “This is now my daily routine because it was so amazing!”
