EXCLUSIVE: “The science is clear, and has been communicated for the past 30 years, and still we’re not moving in the right direction.” That is the stark message put forward in the first trailer for Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet, the latest project fronted by David Attenborough for Netflix.
The movie tells the story of the most important scientific discovery of our time – that humanity has pushed Earth beyond the boundaries that have kept the planet stable for 10,000 years, since the dawn of civilization. It also offers the solutions we can put in place to protect Earth’s life support systems. The film features Professor Johan Rockström, who volunteers his team to advise Netflix on its sustainability strategy.
The project comes from Silverback Films. It is directed and produced by Jon Clay, executive produced by Alastair Fothergill, Keith Scholey, Colin Butfield, Jochen Zeitz and Kate Garwood. Original music is by Hannah Cartwright and Ross Tones.
This is Netflix’s third project with Sir David Attenborough, following Our Planet and David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet.
Breaking Boundaries: The Science of Our Planet will launch on Netflix on June 4.
