The new Gucci campaign inspired by a TV talk show starring Harry Styles is EVERYTHING

If you ever wondered what a Gucci-branded TV talk show might look like, it seems the brand’s creative director Alessandro Michele has hit it on the head in the new campaign for Gucci Beloved.

Let’s just say it’s pretty much the stuff of chat show dreams, with a starry celebrity line up (we’ll come back to that in sec) alongside every bit of fashion drama we need right now.

In a statement released by the fashion powerhouse today they said “Michele has conjured up a version of the late-night ‘Hollywood’ talk show that surprises, and playfully subverts the format.” The designer told Vogue, “Very often, these creations are named after influential women. Now, we twisted with the idea that there were two stars: the bag and the actual talent.”

The slick campaign, directed by cult artist, photographer and director Harmony Korine, showcases Gucci’s four most beloved handbag styles, including the Dionysus and Jackie 1961 bags, using the chat show theme as its clever backdrop. King of the TV chat show, James Corden, plays host while a line-up of A-listers take the hot-seat, Gucci bags in tow.

The string of well-known stars include Harry Styles, who’s pictured crossed-legged in a signature Elton John-esque Gucci uniform (fur coat, bold shirt, flares) alongside his favourite Jackie 1961 bag by his side.

Then there’s Dakota Johnson, seated with her sequined Dionysus on her lap and Sienna Miller beaming to the camera with her Gucci Jackie 1961 in the brand’s GG Supreme canvas, not to mention Hollywood legend Diane Keaton making an appearance with her Gucci Horsebit 1955 bag in pride of place for the cameras.

Other stars in the Gucci limelight include Serena Williams and Awkwafina who dazzle alongside their GG Marmont bags.

In the campaign film, Corden asks his famous guests “Which bag do you hold the most beloved?” The answer? Well, a Gucci Beloved, of course.

Now, seriously, Gucci, can this actually be a real-life show? We’d TOTALLY tune in.
