Over the last twelve months, one thing that has felt very universal is our reliance on loungewear. From the most sartorially iconic A-listers to us mere mortals battling with WFH internet on our daily Zoom calls, there have been few moments that haven’t called for an elasticated waist band.
For one night only (plus a few more, no doubt, as Awards Season has officially kicked off), however, comfy tracksuits and well-worn slippers were replaced by custom, couture gowns once more as the worlds of film and TV were celebrated in style at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards.
Unsurprisingly, this was no normal Awards ceremony.
With the absence of a ‘red carpet’ in the traditional sense, fans of the annual extravaganza were wondering how – if at all – they would get their fashion fix.
Thankfully stars and stylists found a way, with many of them rustling up seriously epic looks worthy of any red carpet and showcasing them from various venues.
We were treated to some serious Molly Goddard drama via the likes of Rosamund Pike and Nicola Coughlan, while Amanda Seyfried’s elegant Oscar de la Renta gown had the whole of Twitter swooning as Cynthia Erivo stepped out in a highlighter green Valentino Haute Couture number which was undoubtedly one of the stand-outs of the night.
From their living rooms to hotel suites, balcony shots to an *actual* red carpet (gasp) for those presenting, scroll down to lap up all the major fashion moments from a very different Golden Globes…
