After nearly four days of waiting, America finally has its next president: Joe Biden has won the 2020 election. All of that champagne we’ve been waiting to pop for days could finally come out of the cabinets. People took to the streets to celebrate with noisemakers that included but were not limited to tubas, cow bells, and air horns.
If you’re like me and didn’t want to jinx it, you did not bring champagne to your remote escape-cabin in the mountains, and now you have to scour the nearest town for some decent bubbly. Oh, well, this weak grocery store rosé will have to do for now.
President-Elect Joe Biden (we can finally say that!), and Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris have been doing some celebrating of their own today. Just look at this phone call of the two of them finally getting to say, out loud, that they won:
“We did it, Joe. We did it. You’re gonna be the next President of the United States,” Harris said. She seems to have had just wrapped up a jog and still had her earbuds in her hand as she celebrated the joyful news.

“America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans—whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me,” Biden tweeted today.
