Fortnite V-Bucks Purchases May Soon Come With Free Disney+ Subscription

According to data miners, Fortnite might soon see another big collaboration with Disney, as the in-game V-Buck currency might come bundled with Disney+ subscription. This could be an especially successful offer to encourage spending on Marvel-themed cosmetics considering just how many of them are available for sale in Fortnite’s item shop.

Another way of spending V-Bucks is to get the legendary default character skins from Chapter 1 Season 1 that are returning after a long period of absence with their original color variations. While for now, skin bundles haven’t been officially announced, their existence has been somewhat confirmed thanks to datamining the latest update for the game. Default cosmetics will likely hit the store to coincide with Fortnite’s release on next-gen consoles. Interestingly, the very same update contains traces of another big addition.

Fortnite and Disney are currently in the midst of an impressive collaboration with the Marvel universe experiencing a massive presence in the game. However, there could be a significant step further as according to dataminers, there’s a special offer coming with Fortnite’s in-game currency V-Bucks being bundled with Disney+ subscription. The description of the promotion reads that buying V-Bucks directly or purchasing any item from the in-game store with real money results in receiving the Disney+ subscription for up to two months. The offer will reportedly run through December 31, 2020, and there’s even a dedicated – yet currently inactive – page on Fortnite’s website containing additional details. The information regarding the upcoming promotion has been shared by two unrelated sources, VastBlast and FireMonkey, as both datamined the recent update v14.50.

According to the official patch notes, the latest update already comes packed with a handful of exciting features. While it effectively wraps up the preparation stage for the upcoming release of Fortnite on next-gen consoles allowing the game to take advantage of their powerful hardware, it also reintroduces fan-favorite jetpacks back to the game after they’ve spent over two years in the Vault. The reappearance of the item became possible “thanks” to the involvement of Marvel’s Stark Industries, which is seemingly responsible for fixing jetpacks.

While the alleged collaboration between Fortnite and Disney+ still needs official confirmation, it is worth noting that such promotions rarely come in an isolated form of a simple offer. If it is indeed real, Epic will probably think of additional ways to attract players’ attention, and the best working solution is, obviously, to include crossover skins. Considering the recent premiere of The Mandalorian Season 2 on Disney+, a Din Djarin costume would’ve been a perfect fit for Fortnite.
