Love Island USA season 2 is finally here, and it’ll provide plenty of reality TV drama and romance on an almost nightly basis on CBS. This British reality dating series started out in 2005 as Celebrity Love Island. After two seasons, the show was canceled on ITV. In 2015, the show was rebooted as Love Island, and it showed a lot of promise. Over the years, this new iteration of the British series became a huge hit for ITV. It has now spanned six seasons and has branched out to countries such as Australia, Germany, Sweden, and the United States.
CBS acquired the rights to the American version of Love Island in 2018. The show entered production straight away but only premiered in the United States a year later. During the summer of 2019, CBS announced Arielle Vandenberg as the host and Matthew Hoffman as the narrator of Love Island USA. This American iteration was not an instant hit when it came to ratings, but the success of the British version of the show provided enough reassurance for CBS to order a second season. With the ever-growing COVID-19 concerns, the second season of the show was postponed. However, the network still found a way to appropriately quarantine the potential islanders and safely film the new season in a Las Vegas hotel.

Following the August 24 premiere, new episodes of Love Island USA season 2 will air on an almost nightly basis on CBS. Each week, new episodes of the show are scheduled to air at 9pm on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Sundays and Thursdays, CBS will air Love Island USA immediately after Big Brother 22: All-Stars. Then, a two-hour recap series titled Love Island: More to Love will air every Saturday starting at 8pm. In addition to recapping the events that took place during the week, each More to Love episode will feature never-before-seen footage and interviews with the cast.
The fans had been craving their favorite reality shows during most of the summer. At the end of July, CBS was finally able to move forward with production for both Big Brother 22 and Love Island USA season 2. For the duration of this season, the Love Island USA villa will be headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. This proved to be a fun but much safer and more contained environment for the islanders in comparison to the villa in Fiji where CBS filmed the first season of the American series.
Season 2 of Love Island USA has just begun… but the fans are already very excited to see how and when these islanders will fall in love with one another. Hopefully, this second season will redeem the show’s first-year ratings and make it as big of a hit series as it is in the U.K.
