One of the first new movies to actually get a mid-pandemic theatrical release here in the United States is the Russell Crowe-starring thriller Unhinged, which Solstice Studios has been intent on bringing to theaters this summer. And they’re sticking to their August 21 release date, releasing a brand new trailer today that assures the movie is really coming out this time.
Billed as a “retro trailer,” this latest look at Unhinged is cut together like an old school driving safety video, playing up the road rage film’s exploitation (Crowesploitation?) thrills.
Check out the brand new trailer below.
Unhinged takes an ordinary, everyday incident to its most terrifying conclusion in telling the story of Rachel (Caren Pistorius), a mother who leans on her horn at the wrong time, to the wrong guy (Crowe). Road rage doesn’t begin to describe what he is about to do to her and everyone she knows.
Gabriel Bateman (Child’s Play) and Jimmi Simpson also star.
The film is directed by Derrick Borte (American Dreamer), written by Carl Ellsworth (Disturbia, Red Eye) and produced by Lisa Ellzey (Warrior, Kingdom of Heaven).
