Dennis Quaid Secretly Elopes With 27-Year-Old Fiancée Laura Savoie

After a whirlwind romance, Dennis Quaid and his 27-year-old fiancée Laura Savoie were secretly married on June 2.

The couple, who first met at a business conference in May 2019, eloped to Santa Barbara this month and were married at a seaside resort with only their pastor in attendance.

“It was beautiful,” the 66-year-old actor told People in this week’s issue. “Just looking into her eyes, she was the most stunning bride.”

Quaid and Savoie had originally planned for an April wedding in Hawaii, the location of their October engagement, followed by a second reception for family and friends in Nashville. But after the pandemic hit, the couple had to postpone the celebrations before ultimately deciding to elope earlier this month.

For the intimate wedding ceremony, Quaid chose a light grey Hugo Boss suit, and Savoie opted for a backless Chosen By One Day gown carrying a bouquet of roses and calla lilies. The newlyweds exchanged Bulgari rings to mark the occasion. Savoie says she has “never met someone who is so in love with life. It’s like nothing can bring him down. Just getting to do life with someone who lives that way is inspiring for me.”

Of his new wife, Quaid told the magazine, “I just love who she is as a person. Her character, her intelligence, of course, her beauty. And her point of view of the world.”

“Love just has a way of surprising you,” he added.
