This past January’s Sundance Film Festival kicked off with Shana Feste‘s Run Sweetheart Run, which our very own Meagan Navarro called “an entertaining battle soaked in blood.”
The terror begins when a blind date turns violent and the woman (Ella Balinska) has to get home through Los Angeles, with her date (Pilou Asbaek) in pursuit.
Run Sweetheart Run was originally scheduled to hit theaters via OTL Releasing and Blumhouse Tilt on May 8th, but the film was pulled from release back in April. And now we’ve learned courtesy of Deadline today that Amazon Studios has acquired Run Sweetheart Run from Blumhouse and Automatik. The film will release through Amazon Prime Video.
A date, at this time, has not yet been announced.
“As crazy as audiences may find the film protagonist’s experience, I wrote and directed a film that is based on a very personal story for me and I’m thrilled that a global audience will have the chance to see it soon on Amazon Prime,” said Feste. “I’m also grateful to my friends at Universal and Blumhouse for their unending support of the film.”
