BIFF (Buffalo Film Festival) Updates – Early Bird Deadline + Pricing Extended!

We hope that this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy during these uncertain times. Our team would like to express our deepest sympathy to everybody who has lost a loved one to COVID-19. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to everybody on the front lines of this global health emergency for their service to our communities and the world, and to every one of you that is working to keep your communities safe in any way that you can.

While it is impossible to predict what will happen between now and our 2020 festival October 8-12, our planning is still cautiously underway. We look forward to a time when we can all collect together in the theatre to share ideas and experiences through cinema.

In light of the challenges being faced by everyone right now, we’ve decided to extend our early bird deadline to May 1st (rather than April 6th).

Our staff and board will continue to adhere to health advisories and best practices for public gatherings as the situation evolves in the coming months. Should it still be unsafe to collect together in the cinema in October 2020, we will roll 2020 submissions over for 2021 festival consideration and organize an alternate showcase in the interim.

New submission timeline:

May 1, 2020 – Early bird deadline
May 25, 2020 – Regular deadline
June 20, 2020 – Late Deadline
July 10, 2020 – Extended Deadline
Notification Date August 10, 2020

Visit filmfreeway.com/buffalofilm to submit your project.

BIFF’s programming team is available to assist, should you have any questions or concerns.

Email info@buffalofilm.org for support.

We wish all of you good health and peaceful minds throughout these trying times.

Sincerely,
The BIFF team
