The £2 makeup sponge with 8,000 positive reviews on Amazon

With the ability to perfectly apply our foundation, blend our concealer and smooth on our serums, it’s little surprise that the humble makeup sponge has become a mainstay in our beauty arsenal.

Whilst the original beauty blender is the original and possibly the best, a plethora of other brands have rolled out their own incarnations. We’ve tried Real Techniques, Boots and Morphe’s iterations but the latest to receive overwhelmingly positive reviews is from a brand we’ve never heard of before.

Beakey’s sponges have been amassing incredibly positive reviews on Amazon (the home of candid reviews) for their impressively soft texture, smooth application and purse-friendly price point.

The sponges, which cost £9.99 for a pack of five (a measly £2 a pop), have received thousands of 5-star reviews and 80% positive feedback on the e-tailer.

The blenders are made from non-latex and non-allergenic material, making them perfect for someone who has sensitive skin.

The makers of the sponges say they’ve been designed to absorb the perfect amount of product so there’s less wastage and no over-saturation; the edgeless design also ensures maximum and seamless coverage.

You can use the pointy side to get into hard-to-reach places, such as around the eyes, mouth, and nose, whilst the round base for foundation and blush on the larger areas of your face, such as your forehead, cheeks and chin.

One user who left the sponges a super positive review wrote: “I’ve been meaning to buy a multi pack for years, but they were always too pricey, until I saw this pack. I am chuffed I bought them as they are great.
Reasonably priced, well packed and work well with my make up. They are soft, but built to last as don’t flake bits off. They wash well too.”

Another shopper said she would ‘definitely’ recommend the sponges to others, writing: “Fantastic for the money, a little more dense than branded sponges but work just as well. They expand huge and they’re very soft. I will definitely repurchase these instead of more expensive ones.”

We’ll certainly be adding these to our basket on our next Amazon beauty haul. Need tips on how to use your makeup sponge? We asked the pros for theirs, as well as their best cleaning hacks.
