It’s been slowly kicking off over the last couple of weeks, but with the arrival of December over the weekend came the official start of the insatiable party season.
And as if we weren’t already relishing in the excuse to snap up a hundred ‘essential’ new pieces to perfect that festive wardrobe, one of our favourite labels just dropped a brand new collection that, let’s just say, is suppling for the demand.
Bursting with beautiful designs, Self-Portrait’s Resort 2020 line may be its best-ever drop, with approx. 50 dresses that GLAMOUR HQ have been drooling over ever since the lookbook landed in our inbox.
And whether or not you’re signed up to the brand’s updates, you likely noticed these pieces happily littering your Instagram feed from a certain Italian location just last month.
Hosting some of the world’s chicest influencers, Self-Portrait – who also has an impressive roster of A-list fans including Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Margot Robbie and Kendall Jenner – took the likes of Tiffany Hsu, Susie Lau, Doina Ciobanu, Eimili Sindlev, Jeanette Madsen and Victoria Magrath to Venice to celebrate the new-season.
Inevitably, the trip encouraged the most stunning social media influx, with the digital natives capturing the heavenly collection in an even more heavenly location.
Bursting with signature moves from the brand’s Malaysian-born designer, Han Chong, the typically accessibly-prices pieces feature modern, feminine silhouettes with edgy design details.
Embroidered florals add delicacy to puffed sleeves, while sheer layers give a subtle sense of allure and festive frivolity to pretty midis.
And while there are plenty of pieces to satisfy fans of Chong’s classic aesthetic, there’s a slightly cooler, tougher selection for those who prefer a less classical style.
A pair of wide-leg, faux leather trousers are a real highlight, while a small selection of puffed-sleeve crop tops provide the freshness and versatility we all crave over the festive period.
Here are the 9 pieces on our Fashion Editor’s wishlist this party season…
