Taylor Swift got pretty sentimental when she accepted the artist of the decade award at the American Music Awards on Sunday. Before taking home the artist of the year award later in the night, the “Lover” singer performed a long medley featuring some of her greatest hits and gave a passionate speech as she accepted her award from Carole King.
Instead of addressing her ongoing feud with Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun like many assumed she would during the show, she used her moment to stay positive, thanking her dedicated Swifties for all of their support over the past 10 years. “All that matters to me is the memories that I’ve had with you guys,” she said. “We’ve had fun, incredible, exhilarating, extraordinary times together . . . thank you for being the reason why I’m on this stage.” Watch her full speech ahead.
