Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber and Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson have spent the past couple weeks stoking dating rumors. While some tabloids have stressed they’re just friends, others have noted they are friends who sure are spending a lot of time together. Then Gerber wrote a P necklace, presumably for Pete, and the romance speculation had more fuel added.

May 31: Pete and Kaia Walk the Alexander Wang Fashion Show
Page Six reports the May fashion show in New York City is likely where the two met. At the time, Davidson was likely quietly dating Margaret Qualley. Us reported when news of their relationship broke in August that they had actually been secretly seeing each other for months.

October 17: Pete’s Split From Margaret Qualley Is Reported
Before there could be Davidson-Gerber rumors, Davidson had to reenter the dating market. The SNL star’s breakup from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actress Margaret Qualley was reported in mid-October. “They remain friends,” a source told Us Weekly. The two dated for “a couple of months” before news of their romance went public in August, a source told Us.
October 23: Pete Is Seen Hanging Out With Kaia in New York City
Gerber and Davidson are spotted together for the first time, twice in one day. Page Six first reports that Davidson was seen leaving Gerber’s apartment building in the city. An insider confirms to the outlet that Davidson was totally there to see the 18-year-old model but stresses they’re “just friends.”
Gerber and Davidson are then photographed having lunch at Sadelle’s that afternoon.
An eyewitness told Us Weekly that they appeared to be into each other but showed no clear physical sign they were dating. “They were having lunch and laughing together as they ate,” the source said. “Pete appeared happy to be with Kaia, and she seemed like she was into Pete, though there was no PDA.” They stayed for two hours, and “a fan held the door open for them as they walked out,” the source finished.
November 4: Pete and Kaia Are Spotted Out in Malibu
Daily Mail reported that Davidson, who’s based in New York, went to Malibu to see Gerber and take her out to Nobu. They were photographed in Davidson’s car together, as seen above.
E! threw some water on Daily Mail’s LA date fantasies on November 5 when the outlet reported that Gerber and Davidson seriously just seem like friends, everyone.
“They had a casual two hour dinner at Nobu on Monday night,” an eyewitness told the outlet. “It seemed friendly and there wasn’t anything outwardly romantic going on. They sat across from each other and talked throughout their dinner.”
“Pete walked out first and Kaia was behind him. They left in the same car with Pete driving,” the source continued. “They looked at each other in the car and started laughing as they drove off.”
A second source told the outlet that “they are spending time together and having fun. They are just friends who like being together and making each other laugh.”
November 6: Gerber Wears a “P” Necklace…for Pete?
Outlets pointed out that Gerber stepped out wearing a Pete-centric statement accessory, a “P” necklace. The model wore it at the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Annual Luncheon at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel. Davidson was not there with her as her date, but..
