Apple TV+’s For All Mankind cast includes a strong ensemble of notable actors and actress, though there are some people viewers may not recognize. Inspired by historical events, the drama explores an alternate history and what might’ve happened if the real-life “space race” had gone differently.

For All Mankind mostly takes place during 1969 and 1970. The Apollo 11 mission goes as planned, but the Russians manage to send a female astronaut to the moon, which creates a whole new set of problems for America, and certainly for NASA. As a team of U.S. female trainees prep for a big mission, a tragedy forces everyone to reconsider what’s most important.
