‘The Mandalorian’ Trailer: First ‘Star Wars’ Live-Action TV Series Brings Gunslinger Bravado

The second trailer for the hotly anticipated Disney+ series The Mandalorian doubles down on the Old-West-in-space ethos of the first trailer and confirms the spreading suspicion that the Disney+ streaming service will be the unlikely home of the grittiest screen experience in the Jedi universe (at least outside the video game sector).

Fans sentiment spreading across the internet? “We’ve got a good feeling about this.”

The first live-action Star Wars television series in the four-decade history of the brand will launch in 15 days on the first active day of the Disney+ streaming service that promises to instantly transform the streaming entertainment marketplace. Also joining the digital fray: Apple TV+ on Nov. 1 which also promises to transform the streaming entertainment marketplace.

The Mandalorlan features one of the more eclectic ensembles in the recent history of American episodic television: Pedro Pascal plays the title role, and he’s supported by Gina CaranoNick Nolte, Carl Weathers, Werner Herzog, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi and Taika Waititi.

The Mandalorian was created by executive producer Jon Favreau, the filmmaker best known for Iron Man and The Jungle Book. Well-known Jedi universe storyteller Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) is directing the inaugural episode and serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson.

Disney already has renewed the series for a second season ,and insiders hint that several established characters from the Skywalker saga’s feature films mythology will make appearances during the show’s sophomore season.
