Bruce Wayne’s butler is not going anywhere.
Premium cabler, EPIX, has confirmed that Pennyworth will be back for a second season in 2020.
Season 2 of the drama series is slated to get underway in January 2020.
The series follows Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth (Jack Bannon), a onetime British SAS soldier who works with young billionaire Thomas Wayne (Ben Aldridge), long before he is the father to Bruce.
Taking place in 1960s London, it features crazy fight scenes, as well as plots that are filled with twists.

“Pennyworth has been a big hit for us, embraced by critics and fans alike. It was the highest-performing original series ever to premiere on Epix, more than doubling the viewership of the shows that came before it,” said Epix president Michael Wright in a statement.
“Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and WBTV have delivered a brilliant, must watch series. We can’t wait to work with this phenomenal cast and creative team on another exciting season.”
In addition to Bannon and Ben Aldridge, Pennyworth stars Emma Paetz, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett, Ryan Fletcher, Dorothy Atkinson, Ian Puleston-Davies, Polly Walker, Paloma Faith, and Jason Flemyng.
The series is executive produced and written by Bruno Heller.

Pennyworth Season 1 garnered decent reviews, with a 70% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
TV Fanatic gave the series 5 stars, complimenting the tone, the acting, and the clever writing.
There’s no telling what craziness awaits on Season 2, but at least we know we’re getting one.
It’s becoming increasingly difficult for shows to last beyond their initial seasons, mostly because there is so much to watch.
