Nikki Wolff, or Nikki Makeup as she’s know to her one million Instagram followers, is the ultimate authority on glowing skin and brushed up brows. In fact, her makeup skills have amassed a throng of celebrity fans including Dua Lipa, Joan Smalls, and Elsa Hosk to name a few. So, how does Nikki prep her a-list clientele for the event of the season, the exclusive Dior dinner party at Paris Fashion Week? We caught up with her as she worked her makeup magic on top model Leomie Anderson…

“Create a 360 degree glow”

The secret to truly glowing skin is not just highlighting cheekbones… its finding your favourite high points of the face and highlighting those too.. for example on Leomie’s beautiful face I applied the Dior Backstage glow palette with a small brush at the very top of her cheekbones to really make them pop. Then I applied a little down the bridge of her nose, in inner corners of eyes and on her temples. This creates a full 360 degree glow both in photos and real life.

“Always mix shades and textures”

The key to natural looking, flawless skin is finding your perfect shade match. No matter what the texture of your base, it will always look more natural if the shade is perfect. For darker skin tones especially, I love to mix and match tones and shades to different parts of the face. For Leomie I used a lighter, cooler shade of Dior Forever Glow Foundation in the centre of her face and a deeper, warmer shade in the outer areas. This helps to create totally natural looking dimension too.

The same applies to textures to avoid shine but retain a glow. I love to use something rich and glowy on the cheeks, with a more mattifying, perfecting texture in the centre of the face where you don’t want as much shine. Also, I love to layer liquid products first and then finish with powder textures for the most dewy, natural finish but with added staying power.

“Know how to work the camera”

The key to looking great on camera is careful product application! It’s all about where you apply the right products. The glowiest cheekbones are not necessarily the ones with the most highlighter on. I adore the Dior backstage highlighting palette because it has four shades of glow to choose from so your glow can always be on point! (Pun intended)
