The next Paranormal Activity movie has found one of its stars.
Chase Yi, who appeared on Mythic Quest, has been cast in a lead role in the upcoming installment of the long-running horror franchise, according to a new report from Deadline.
Character details are being kept under wraps for now, and plot information has not been revealed yet. It also remains unclear how closely the new movie will connect to previous entries in the franchise.
The untitled film is being directed by Ian Tuason, the filmmaker behind Undertone, and is currently set to arrive in theaters on May 21, 2027.
The movie will mark the eighth installment in the Paranormal Activity film series, which began with Oren Peli’s 2007 found-footage horror hit.
The new film is set up at Paramount and Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, with James Wan, Jason Blum, and Oren among the producers.
Chase’s casting appears to be the first major acting news for the upcoming film. He is best known to TV audiences for playing Storm on Mythic Quest. The most recent movie in the series, Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, was released on Paramount+ in 2021.
There is also a Paranormal Activity stage play coming to Broadway this summer after sold-out runs around the globe.
