Johnny Knoxville Can’t “Get Another Concussion” On ‘Jackass’ Movie

While brushing up on his Jackass-ery for another big screen outing, Johnny Knoxville is taking some extra precautions this time.

The co-creator of the MTV reality stunt show franchise, who recently announced a new Jackass movie will premiere in theaters on June 26, noted that he’s accumulated “too many concussions” since launching the series in 2000.

“I can’t do anything where I can get another concussion,” he said on Syndicate X Library. “[I’m] way over my limit for concussions, but I don’t care about anything else. I just can’t get hit in the head anymore… but a lot of other guys can.

Knoxville added, “[The stunts are] so fun. They’re pure hell for the cast, but they’re a lot of fun for me. They’re having fun too. So, I’m very excited about that.”

When asked how many times he’s had to visit the ER, Knoxville couldn’t say. “I should have stayed in school. Maybe things would have turned out differently for me. I could have named how many times I’ve been to the ER,” he joked.

Last week, Knoxville announced on social media that another Jackass movie is coming soon to theaters this summer.

“Well a wang dang and hot damn doodle, we are starting the year off with a bang. We wanted to let you know that this summer Jackass is back!! We will see you in theatres June 26th,” he wrote. “More to come but wanted you to hear it from us first!!”

Co-created by Jeff Tremaine, Spike Jonze and Knoxville, Jackass ran for three seasons on MTV from 2000 to 2001, sparking multiple movie spin-offs over the years.
