Noyer is a Finnish-French filmmaker with a background in advertising, documentaries, and genre films. After founding You Know Films, he transitioned from advertising to storytelling, producing art and music documentaries, including the acclaimed ‘808’, the first documentary released on Apple Music. With 20+ years of experience, he turned to directing innovative thrillers and horror films, including Conductor and its SXSW 2021 breakout feature adaptation Sound of Violence. Another upcoming project includes the drama These Little Ones Perish. Since 2023, Noyer has served as Ambassador & Executive Producer of the Fantastic Pavilion at the Marché du Film in Cannes.

Love Is the Monster is produced by Laurence Gendron (A Wounded Fawn), Noyer (Sound of Violence), and Hannu Aukia (Sound of Violence).

“I have known the Raven Banner team for some time and their attachment to bold storytelling in horror is what makes this partnership so exciting. Love is the Monster brings about a sort of modern folk horror based on Finnish mythology and I can’t wait to send our audiences to this retreat.” said Noyer.

“Raven Banner is thrilled to continue to support Finnish genre filmmaking, with its acquisition of Alex Noyer’s Love is the Monster. Alex’s track record of telling compelling stories, with strong genre elements, makes this film a perfect fit for Raven Banner. We look forward to introducing it to the marketplace in Cannes, in both our booth, but also at the Fantastic Pavilion.” said James Fler, Managing Partner, Raven Banner Entertainment.

“There’s a lot of affinity between Finland and Canada and shooting this film, based on Finnish mythology, here further proved it. Raven Banner’s track record working with Finnish filmmakers proves how this collaboration makes so much sense. I am confident the film will make quite an impression on the market in Cannes” adds Gendron.
