Imogen Faith Reid is the talented newcomer who is portraying the real-life media sensation Natalia Grace in Hulu’s Good American Family and viewers might have some questions about her.
The new show tells the story of Natalia Grace, a girl with a rare form of dwarfism who was adopted by a Midwestern couple and later accused of being an adult women. Ellen Pompeo and Mark Duplass play Kristine and Michael Barnett, the adoptive parents. Watch the trailer now!
The series follows Natalia from a span of ages from 7 to 19, so audiences might be wondering how old Imogen is in real life to be able to portray a character in that age range.

Imogen’s IMDb page notes that she was born in May 1997, which means she is currently 27 years old.
“Though at 27 she naturally looks older than Natalia, she makes up for the gap with a raw interpretation that never gives into precociousness or self-consciousness,” THR notes in its review of the show.
Imogen opened about turning 27 in a birthday post last year, which happened while filming Good American Family.
“I just turned 27 which is getting a lil serious now I’m not liking this aging thing anymore🤣😭. But I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have spent it with the best people.
Thank you to everyone who made my birthday SO special I truly feel so loved my by TV family this experience is genuinely the best experience I’ve ever had, I’m soo grateful that I get to be apart of it and honestly don’t want this to end at all 😭and I’m so lucky to have had my sis there to help me celebrate 🥳🥳. I’m gonna remember this birthday for a while 🥰✨,” she wrote on Instagram.
In real life, Natalia is 21 right now.
“I was six years old when they adopted me. But the Barnetts did a petition to change my age to 22 years old. I literally lost my childhood,” Natalia said in the docu-series The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks. “The Barnetts tried to paint me as this big monster, they claimed I’m lying about my age.”
The series’ showrunner Sarah Sutherland opened up about picking Imogen to play the role.
“Imogen blew everybody away,” Sarah told Variety. “As soon as everybody saw her tape, it was clear she was the one.”
She added, “I mean, she not only has to play over a wide range of years, but she also plays Natalia from two different ages and different people’s perspectives.”
