Netflix Unveils India Originals Slate For 2025


Netflix has unveiled new Indian originals today for 2025, after releasing teasers of previously-announced projects over the last few weeks.

New tentpole projects include Aryan Khan’s Bollywood-themed series The Ba***ds of Bollywood (The Bads of Bollywood) as well as Akka, written and directed by Dharmaraj Shetty under YRF Entertainment.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood tells the story of an ambitious outsider and his friends as they navigate the larger-than-life yet uncertain world of Bollywood.

Akka is set in the 1980s matriarchal society of a fictional city of Pernuru, South India, and will star Keerty Suresh, Radhika Apte and Tanvi Azmi.

The streamer also unveiled its first Telugu comedy-drama series Super Subbu, which will star Sundeep Kishan, Mithila Palkar, Murali Sharma and Maanasa Choudhary.

Another Indian series is Glory, which follows a legendary boxing coach named Raghubir Singh, who is forced to reunite with his estranged sons, Dev and Ravi and tells the story of a family’s fierce pursuit of an Olympic medal.

Nadaaniyan tells the story of a South Delhi diva, a middle-class overachiever boy, and their outrageous plan for romance. The film stars Ibrahim Ali Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhary, Suniel Shetty, Dia Mirza and Jugal Hansraj.

Unscripted series Dining With The Kapoors will also follow the iconic Kapoor family and their relationship with food and cinema. The series is created by Armaan Jain and written and directed by Smriti Mundhra.

Previously-announced titles like Siddharth Anand’s drama, Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, Tamiil cricket drama Test, Aap Jaisa Koi, The Royals and crime show Mandala Murders also round off the streamer’s Indian originals slate.

Additionally, new seasons of Khakee, Rana Naidu, Kohrra and Delhi Crime will return to the platform this year.

Netflix also announced that WWE events on their platform, including RAW, NXT, SmackDown, and Premium Live Events, will also come with Hindi commentary this year.
